Breakfast Club
Week commencing 14th November 2022
We were kindly donated some ‘Where’s Wally?’ puzzle books this week. Some of the children loved the challenge of finding Wally in the different locations. We began to set each other challenges such as “How many Wally’s can you find in two minutes?” It was super tricky!
Later in the week, we were busy creating Pudsey Bear for Children in Need. The children spent time completing colouring by numbers, dot to dots and gluing activities. The favourite activity by far was creating moving Pudsey bears. The children used split pins to attach his limbs and head to his body. They could then choose his accessories to add. We had lots of Pudseys eating cake and some children created clothes for him too!
Week commencing 6th November 2022
We began the week with lots of physical activities. The children enjoyed creating different obstacle courses and timing each other. They collected points as they threw beanbags into the target areas and then began creating their own targets. They even used their ideas to work out how to stop the hanging bucket spinning! Some of the girls practiced their netball passing skills they have learnt with Mrs Black on a Friday and other children practised their basketball dribbling skills.
We all had a Tuesday morning warm up session with Sanderson’s Dance School (including the staff!) and some of the children continued to learn new dance skills.
We also joined the school to remember those who fought for our country as we created poppies and joined them together to create a wreath. The children were super proud as they displayed it in our school entrance.
Week commencing 31st October 2022
We have had a busy week at breakfast club this week. We started the week by celebrating Halloween and creating pumpkins using paper plates. The children explored different techniques: some children used collaging, some used scrunching, and others used felt tips to create different effects. The children loved this and made sure to add a scary face!! On Tuesday we were very lucky to be joined by a dance teacher from Sanderson’s Dance School. The children enjoyed learning new moves and routines with her. Towards the end of the week, we began to think about bonfire night, the children used forks, cotton buds and paintbrushes to create fantastic firework pictures. We had a variety of Catherine Wheels, Bangers and Rockets!
