We are absolutely delighted for Bear, who impressed us all with a fantastic application and a brilliant interview. Bear is known throughout the school for his kindness, courtesy, and impeccable manners. Popular among his peers and respected by staff, he truly deserves this role. Well done, Bear! We know you’ll lead with integrity and heart.
Head Girl – Elsie
Our new Head Girl showed remarkable growth during her interview, stepping out of her shell and letting her confidence shine through. She has always been a role model in school with her kindness, strong work ethic, and respectful nature, which all make her a perfect fit for this position. We look forward to seeing her confidence continue to bloom.

Deputy Head Girl – Bella
With a superb application and thoughtful, confident responses in her interview, our new Deputy Head Girl stood out as a natural leader. Her positive attitude and maturity impressed all members of staff. This is her time to shine and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the role.
Our Year 6 children were given the opportunity to apply for the position of Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl. Many of our Year 6 children sent in fantastic applications that the panel were blown away by! The shortlisting was difficult as every child met the criteria. We decided to hold interviews which were done in groups so that we could see how they interacted with others, how well these listened, how they communicated and so that we could hear their ideas. We all know that they will do a fantastic job!
School Ambassadors
Our children voted for their peers on who they think are good role models and will represent the class and our school really well.
Our ambassadors will have regular meetings with the Head Boy and Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl and school leaders to find ways to make our school even better.
They have an important role to play. They will provide a way for pupils to voice their thoughts and opinions about our school. They will have their views listened to and will be involved in important decisions.
Reading Ambassadors
The children had to apply for the role via an application, where they had to write why they would be a good ambassador for reading. Their role will be to read to the other children and to tidy the many reading areas around school to make sure they remain amazing! The children are extremely excited about their role.
Eco Club
Eco-club members have made a draft lighting policy and have been practicing and preparing to record it ready to give our governing body.
Wellbeing Heroes
The Wellbeing Heroes Programme is a student-led intervention, designed to make use of physical activity as a proactive solution to mental health and wellbeing issues present within schools. Their role will be to attend training and meetings and they will help people who are finding school life challenging.
We know that they will do an amazing job!

Debate Club 2024-2025

Alice, Maisie, Eva, Bear and Daniel have participated in the final of ‘The Great Lancashire Debate’ at County Hall in Preston. They were crowned the Burnley area competition winners and the judges were particularly impressed with their unique idea of building greenhouses in every house in Lancashire with a garden.
The three adults and the children went on the train and spent the best part of the day listening, and sharing their ideas about how to improve Lancashire over the next fifty years. Although the debate team did not win the overall competition, all of the team were complimented on their public speaking skills. The children were amazing – these words came from one of the town councillors who was a judge. Daniel also earned a commendation for his performance.
